About
Ear candling is a practice found in a number of ancient cultures and is said to be effective at treating headaches, tinnitus, vertigo, stress and a host of other inflammations. An ear candle is a hollow cone usually made of linen, beeswax or soy wax that creates a vacuum in the ear in order to draw out any excess ear wax.
- First, your therapist asks you to lie on your side and places a plate over your face and ear to stop the excess wax from burning you.
- Your therapist gently inserts one end of the candle into your ear at 90 degrees and lights the other end.
- The crackling sound of the burning candle relaxes your body and mind as the vacuum created draws out the ear wax from your inner ear.
- After 10-15 minutes, your therapist asks you to turn over and the same steps are done for your other ear.
If you feel like your thoughts are foggy, ear candling can be a great way to clear your head.
